Science to the Station Named an Official National Firefighter Registry Champion
New York, NY — September 26, 2025 — Science to the Station is proud to announce that it has been officially recognized by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) as a National Firefighter Registry (NFR) Champion, joining a nationwide coalition of organizations working to understand and reduce cancer among firefighters.
The National Firefighter Registry for Cancer (NFR) is the largest effort ever undertaken to collect data on cancer among U.S. firefighters: career, volunteer, active, and retired, with the goal of better understanding the link between firefighting and cancer risk. Through this landmark initiative, researchers at NIOSH aim to drive critical prevention, policy, and support strategies that will save lives and improve health outcomes across the fire service.
“Being recognized as an NFR Champion underscores our unwavering commitment to firefighter health and wellness,” said Dr. Sara Jahnke, Executive Director of Science to the Station. “Cancer remains one of the most significant occupational threats firefighters face, and partnering with NIOSH in this vital registry is one more way we’re working to ensure firefighters not only survive but thrive throughout their careers and into retirement.”
As an NFR Champion, Science to the Station will continue to lead by example in education, outreach, and advocacy; encouraging firefighters across the nation to enroll in the registry. Participation is simple, voluntary, and crucial: every firefighter who registers strengthens the data that researchers and public health professionals rely on to develop life-saving interventions.
“Firefighters put their lives on the line for our communities,” said Dr. Jahnke. “They deserve the best science, the best data, and the best support we can provide. We’re honored to help advance this mission alongside NIOSH and the many other organizations committed to this cause.”

Responder Strong Receives Support from Webull to Strengthen Behavioral Health Disaster Response
New York, NY – September 15, 2025 – ResponderStrong announced today that Webull (NASDAQ: BULL), an online investment platform, has made a significant donation to advance efforts to build a national behavioral health disaster response system for first responders.
The gift will help create the infrastructure needed to better support firefighters and other responders facing behavioral health challenges during and after disasters. “We’re grateful to Webull for recognizing the importance of this work,” said Dr. Sara Jahnke, President of ResponderStrong. “Their support helps us take an important step toward ensuring first responders have the resources they need when they need them most.”
This effort builds on more than two decades of progress in responder behavioral health, forged in part by retired New York City Fire Department’s Captain Frank Leto. Following the September 11, 2001 attacks, Captain Leto emerged as a pioneer in responder mental health, leading initiatives that transformed how the fire service supports its members. ResponderStrong’s mission is to carry that legacy forward, institutionalizing and expanding access to behavioral health resources for responders nationwide.
“Investing in responder behavioral health is about readiness and resilience,” Dr. Jahnke added. “With Webull’s partnership, we can move faster toward a system that protects those who protect all of us.”
“Our nation’s first responders risk their lives for our safety, often at great cost to their mental health and well-being,” said Anthony Denier, Group President and U.S. CEO at Webull. “We are honored to support ResponderStrong as we mark the 24 th Anniversary of the September 11 attacks. As a company committed to strengthening the communities where we live and work, we are proud to help ensure that the heroes who protect us have the resources and care they need.”
