THE LONG AWAITED SLEEP AND SHIFT WORK STUDY IS HERE!!!
We are conducting a national research study to better understand how sleep patterns and fatigue impact firefighter health and well-being. This study includes career and volunteer firefighters and spouses/partners of volunteer firefighters to ensure we capture the full picture of sleep-related challenges in the fire service.
Firefighters experience unique sleep disruptions due to shift schedules, call volume, and operational demands. Your participation will help us:
Identify key sleep-related challenges for firefighters
Explore how sleep affects health, safety, and job performance
Develop recommendations for improving firefighter sleep health
The survey is completely anonymous and takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. To access the survey, follow the link below.
If you are a volunteer firefighter, at the end of the survey, you will have the option to invite your spouse/partner to participate in a separate survey about how firefighting affects sleep in your household.
Your input is critical in helping us improve firefighter health, safety, and policies.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Dr. Brittany Hollerbach (hollerbach@ndri-usa.org).
Thank you for your time and efforts!
